Challenges We Help You Address

Whether you are dealing with a chronic physical or mental health condition . . . coping with symptoms that have so far defied diagnosis . . . or struggling to come to grips with difficult new life circumstances . . .

Evolvinn can help you, as we have helped many others.

We know that having a chronic illness or physical condition can be frustrating, frightening, isolating, and debilitating. It is difficult to come to terms with pain, exhaustion, limitation, and loss.

Just managing your condition can prevent you from doing everything else you want and need to do. Ongoing symptoms and emerging complications may be wearing you out. You may feel misunderstood or invalidated—by doctors who dismiss your concerns, or family members and friends who just don’t get it. Your loss of independence and autonomy may threaten your appreciation of life and your very sense of self.

Evolvinn can help. We will offer you guidance, feedback, support, and creative solutions. We’ll partner with you to tap and expand your inner resilience, discover new sources of meaning and fulfillment, and try out life hacks that can make a big difference.

We specialize in working with patients who seek expert support and practical approaches in dealing with challenges including POTS, MCAS, ME/CFS, EDS, Long Covid, post-viral infections, cancer, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions, loss of mobility and function, neurological conditions, neuromuscular conditions, and orthopedic injuries.

We recognize how lonely, crushing, and overwhelming life can feel when you are coping with a challenge to your mental health. It’s tough whether your issues have just now shown up in your life or have tormented you for years, and whether they seem like an isolated problem or are part of a complex of conditions and symptoms.

You do not have to suffer. You don’t need to contend with your condition alone.

Your Evolvinn therapist will meet you where you are. Working together, you will reach a deeper understanding of what you’re dealing with and how you can best move forward. You’ll identify, implement, and refine tools, strategies, and skills that will enable you to break through your personal fears and barriers. You will learn how you can experience the sense of mastery and well-being you seek, now and for years to come.

We are experts in helping our patients deal with mental health challenges including general anxiety disorder, panic disorder, OCD, health anxiety, social anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, ADHD, executive dysfunction, eating disorders and disordered eating, postpartum depression and anxiety, psychosis, sleep disturbance/insomnia, trauma, and PTSD.

We know how difficult it can be to move from one life stage to another—how the personal adjustments and changes required of you can feel way too great to deal with.

We also know how, in an instant, your life can take a devastating turn. And how circumstances and situations you thought you were completely on top of can suddenly threaten to do you in.

You know that you’re not the only person who is or has been where you are now. Yet that knowledge only helps so much, and may even make you feel more inadequate.

Evolvinn Therapy will support you through these challenging times. We will listen skillfully and compassionately, and offer you resourceful, pragmatic ways to cope. No matter what’s happening on your journey, we will help you navigate the twists and turns and find your inner joy and peace along the way.

We can help you deal with life challenges including caregiver fatigue and burnout, difficult life transitions, emerging adulthood, end of life, grief and loss, and infertility.

If you are struggling with any of the following conditions, we are here to help you—as we’ve helped many others. We will guide and support you as you achieve breakthroughs and learn to sustain your sense of well-being. We’ll help you appreciate your uniqueness, identify and build on your strengths, achieve your goals, experience satisfying relationships, and enjoy your life.

ADHD has a way of affecting all aspects of our lives, including our educational experiences, careers, relationships, hygiene, adulting, and more. It can be frustrating to experience attentional and executive functioning challenges. You may find yourself missing deadlines, losing your wallet, hunting through a messy room, or just lacking the motivation to close your screens and get started on your goals.

You don’t have to go through this alone! We’ll guide you in mastering a wealth of tools, strategies, and skills to increase your productivity, motivation, and happiness.

Anxiety can be like a bully—telling you things that aren’t true, putting you down, and making you believe that it’s too scary to try something new or even do something that you’ve done before. You may feel anxious “for good reason,” as with chronic health conditions, or for no reason that you’re aware of. Either way, anxiety has a way of shrinking your world as it magnifies your doubts and uncertainties. It can negatively impact your confidence, strain your relationships, and keep you from moving forward as you desire.

We can help you manage your anxious thoughts and guide you as you face and overcome your fears.

Having a chronic illness can make every aspect of your life—physical, cognitive, social, and more—a huge challenge. It can be frustrating, isolating, and exhausting.

Managing your illness can easily become the full-time job that you didn’t apply for. You don’t feel good! Your illness manifests in ways that may be unique and unpredictable from day to day, hour to hour. Yet you’re trying to keep up with all you need and want to do—or feeling bad when you can’t. Often, you’re caught in a seemingly endless, fruitless search for an accurate diagnosis, trekking from doctor to doctor, test to test.

Aside from managing all your appointments and other must-do’s, and dealing with your pain and limitations and other concerns, you also feel misunderstood. The doctors you see often invalidate or dismiss your symptoms and concerns. Your family and friends can’t seem to understand, empathize, or validate your experiences because they just don’t get it.

We are here to listen and understand you. We can help you achieve breakthroughs and sustain your sense of well-being through it all.

Depression is not just feeling sad. It can manifest in many different ways, including hopelessness, irritability, lack of energy, isolation, and loss of interest in activities that you used to enjoy. It can accompany chronic health conditions, surface with life changes, or emerge seemingly out of nowhere. Depression can be overwhelming. It can lead to feeling “stuck,” both physically and emotionally. Often, the urges that we have when we are depressed are counter to what we should be doing to overcome depression.

The good news is that there are effective treatments for depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders and we are happy to work with you to help you feel better!

It‘s natural to feel vulnerable, sad, fearful, and discouraged when you have a condition that comes with its own symptoms and potential complications—and may be the root cause of, or at least tangled up with the manifestations of, other chronic conditions like POTS. It’s not easy to live with chronic pain, to accept that you must perpetually live with limitations, or to fear that doing what you want to do may subject you to serious injury. It is easy to be hard on yourself.

We are here to help you tap and expand your inner resilience. We’ll offer guidance, feedback, and creative solutions to lift you on your journey.

Moving from adolescence to adulthood is complex and challenging. This transition is filled with new and welcomed experiences and freedoms—and tremendous stress! Learning to be more independent, exploring your own identity, and envisioning and embarking on your personal future isn’t easy. Never a smooth, linear process, it may introduce or exacerbate difficulties in your life.

We’re available to help you and your family navigate and enjoy these bumpy times.

You’ve recovered—and you haven’t. Now your life is filled with strange, unwelcome symptoms and circumstances you didn’t have to deal with before. You despair of ever feeling yourself again—if you can even remember what that felt like. You want to get back to life as you knew it or create a better new life. But you don’t have the stamina or focus—or you’re spending the little energy you have trying to get answers to what’s going on with you.

We want to help. In working with you, we’ll draw on all we’ve learned through our significant experience in helping patients with chronic health conditions and apply our growing expertise in helping those with COVID-related concerns.

We are here to assist you with compassion, creativity, and practicality. We’ll partner with you as you explore possibilities, discover new sources of meaning and fulfillment, and try out simple life hacks that can make a big difference.

It can be extremely difficult to feel in control of your life when you are living, day after day, with the one or more of the host of debilitating neurological, autonomic, and immunological symptoms that ME/CFS can mean for you. For starters, it can be mentally and emotionally draining and depressing to feel physically exhausted all or most of the time—not to mention extremely frustrating to “look fine” to others when you’re feeling so incapacitated. And that is not all. You may also be worn out from suffering, managing, or simply dreading the host of other pains, sensitivities, intolerances, disabilities, and issues that may manifest unpredictably and sometimes devastatingly when you have this or a related disease.

We offer you not only a patient, empathetic ear but also a host of skills and techniques to encourage and empower you.

Having POTS or another complex, chronic disorder of your nervous system can be frightening and debilitating. You’re dealing with invisible, fluctuating, and unpredictable symptoms—physical and cognitive symptoms that are hard to manage and often resist treatment. The people in your life who try to understand and empathize often can’t, because what you’re dealing with is invisible, and comes and goes.

Through individualized psychotherapy sessions and our unique POTS support groups, we can help you discover how to respond successfully. You will gain skills that help you deal with unhelpful thoughts and emotions, build and manage relationships, and maintain and evolve a strong sense of yourself.
