Dr. Demi Maglio is a licensed clinical psychologist who excels at helping individuals of all ages discover how they can live a meaningful, fulfilling life while meeting complex medical and mental health challenges. Having developed a deep understanding of the mind-body connection through her education, training, career, and personal life, she has a particular interest in working with patients who are living with chronic health conditions and those adjusting to new diagnoses. She also specializes in helping patients who are facing the challenges of chronic pain, infertility, grief/loss, trauma, postpartum anxiety and depression, eating disorders, and sleep disorders.

Dr. Maglio is highly skilled in and passionate about collaborating with each patient as a whole person—identifying and addressing their unique and evolving set of physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs and aspirations. With both expertise and empathy, and a style that is genuine and nonjudgmental, she creates a warm, comfortable environment in which patients feel safe in exploring solutions for positive change. She empowers patients to unlock their inner strengths and bring their choices and actions in line with their values so they can achieve a healthier lifestyle and enjoy a more satisfying life.

Dr. Maglio’s therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also integrates other evidence- based approaches in which she has completed specialized training, including CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I), CBT for Chronic Pain, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), clinical hypnosis, meaning-centered psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness. Valuing that her patients are the experts of their own lives, she draws on these approaches as appropriate to meet them where they are, recognize and expand their readiness for change, and facilitate their growth.

Throughout her clinical training and professional experience, Dr. Maglio has worked in behavioral medicine, inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Delaware and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from LaSalle University, where she pursued the Health Psychology track. She also earned a Master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver. She completed a predoctoral internship at the Veteran Affairs New Jersey Health Care system, where she specialized in health and rehabilitation psychology.

Dr. Maglio is licensed in New York and New Jersey and able to practice in all PSYPACT states.
