Founder and Psychologist
She/Her/Hers
As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Dos Santos works primarily with adolescents and young adults. With her naturally warm, calm, easygoing demeanor and through her dedication to listening carefully and empathetically, she has cultivated an exceptional ability to connect with young people who are struggling with difficult, often complex issues. She takes the time needed to build understanding and trust, then engages each client in a program of treatment that builds on the client’s personal strengths and addresses pressing concerns.
Dr. Dos Santos encourages, supports, and guides her clients as they acquire insight into their thoughts and behaviors. She makes sure that clients acquire practical skills that they can draw upon daily to experience positive change and meaningful transformation in their lives. She has particular expertise in working with young adults who are transitioning to and managing the stresses of college as she provides strategies and techniques that lead to increased autonomy and independence as well as improved relationships with family, peers and partners. She has a particular interest in clients with complex medical and mental health conditions and has pursued advanced training in addressing the mental health symptoms associated with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Long COVID. In addition to providing individualized psychotherapy, she has also drawn on her group therapy background and depth of experience with evidence-based treatment approaches to design and lead innovative support groups for Evolvinn clients.
Prior to founding Evolvinn Therapy and Consulting, Dr. Dos Santos worked for more than a decade as a clinical psychologist at the Ross Center in Washington, DC, and Tysons Corner, VA. She provided therapy services and psychological evaluations for a full caseload of children, adolescents, and young adults as well as served on the Ross Center’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team. She has also worked with adolescents and young adults in residential treatment centers, hospitals, schools, juvenile justice, and community mental health settings. In these roles, she has provided clinical leadership, court-ordered psychological evaluations, and crisis intervention services in addition to individual, group, and family therapy.
Dr. Dos Santos completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Maryland, College Park and earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees at the University of Hartford, where she pursued the child and adolescent clinical track. She has also completed post-graduate training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
Having honed her skills as an educator, communicator, and connector throughout her career, Dr. Dos Santos welcomed the opportunity to serve as the Ross Center’s Director of Community Outreach. In this role, she developed, implemented, and evaluated a wide range of initiatives to showcase the practice’s capabilities and programs, forge connections with other community resources, expand the client base, and increase awareness of mental health issues and advances. In her current role as Founder of Evolvinn Therapy, she prioritizes and values continued collaboration with professionals regarding her patients and appreciates learning about new community resources and services.
Dr. Dos Santos is licensed in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and New York and is able to practice in all PSYPACT states.
